0. Early-stage release — paid subscriptions available

SuperStudies is in an early-stage release. New features are added and existing ones may be changed as we iterate. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Paid subscriptions are live. SuperStudies offers a paid subscription tier and may offer a free tier. Subscription, billing, refund, and cancellation provisions in §7 apply to any paid subscription you take out.
  • "As is" — no warranty of any kind: The Service is provided strictly "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or non-infringement.
  • No liability for consequences: To the maximum extent permitted by law, SuperStudies Ltd accepts no responsibility and no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to academic outcomes, missed deadlines, lost study notes, or reliance on AI-generated content. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
  • Active development: Features may be added, changed, downgraded, or removed as the product evolves. Material changes affecting paid subscribers will be notified by email with reasonable notice.
  • No SLA: We make no formal service-level, uptime, or availability commitment at this stage.

If you do not accept these conditions, please do not use the Service. Feedback is welcome — please send it to [email protected].

1. Introduction

Welcome to SuperStudies® ("we", "our", "us"). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and platform located at www.superstudies.co.uk ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Company Information

SuperStudies® is a registered trademark of SuperStudies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company Number: 16694082). Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street,
Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ
United Kingdom.

3. Curriculum Data Accuracy & Responsibility

3.1 Nature of Curriculum Content

All curriculum structures, including subjects, units, topics, and concepts (the "Curriculum Data"), provided on the SuperStudies platform are for illustrative and organizational purposes only. This data is primarily derived from the Department for Education (DfE) subject content guidance and may be supplemented with publicly available sources. The DfE subject content is published under the Open Government Licence and is board-agnostic. Your school's curriculum may differ in pacing, emphasis, or content selection.

3.2 No Endorsement or Affiliation

SuperStudies is an independent educational platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by AQA, Pearson, OCR, or any other awarding body. All trademarks and copyrights related to exam specifications belong to their respective owners.

3.3 Student Responsibility to Verify

Students are solely responsible for ensuring their study plan aligns with the official specification provided by their school or downloaded directly from the official exam board website. SuperStudies does not guarantee that the provided Curriculum Data covers all assessable content for any given exam series.

3.4 Custom Curriculum & User-Uploaded Content

Users may use the "Curriculum Uploader" or the in-app custom-topic features to add their own subjects, topics, notes, flashcards, or mind-map source material. We recognise that much of this material will originate from school-issued resources, teachers' notes, textbooks, or third-party publishers. By uploading or pasting such material into SuperStudies, you confirm and agree that:

  • You are using the material solely for your own private, non-commercial study, which we believe falls within the UK "fair dealing for private study" exception (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, s.29).
  • You — not SuperStudies — are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the material in this way. If your school, teacher, or a third-party publisher restricts or prohibits such reuse, you must not upload it.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness of the material you upload.
  • You will not upload material that is defamatory, obscene, harmful, infringing, or unlawful.
  • Indemnity: you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SuperStudies Ltd, its officers, employees, and contractors against any claim, demand, loss, cost, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from material you upload, including any third-party intellectual-property or confidentiality claim relating to school-issued or publisher-issued content.
  • No redistribution: custom curriculum content you upload is private to your account. We do not share it with other users, sell it, publish it, or use it to train any AI model (see Privacy Policy §3 for the equivalent commitment on study data).
  • Take-down: if a rights-holder contacts us with a credible objection, we may remove the material from your account on notice to you.

3.5 Limitation of Liability

SuperStudies shall not be held liable for any discrepancies between our platform's content and official exam requirements, nor for any academic outcomes resulting from reliance on the illustrative Curriculum Data provided.

4. Disclaimer of Outcomes and AI Interpretation

4.1 No Guarantee of Academic Outcomes

SuperStudies provides digital tools, AI-powered explanations, and illustrative curriculum frameworks to assist in study organization and revision. However, we do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, grade, or exam result. Academic success depends on a multitude of factors beyond the scope of this platform, including student effort, school instruction, teacher guidance, and exam board variations.

4.2 Interpretation of AI Explanations and Tools

The "AI Tutor," automated explanations, flashcard generation, mind-map generation, marking feedback, and other AI-driven features on the platform (collectively, "AI Tools") are intended for supplementary guidance only. AI Tools must not be relied upon as a primary or sole source of study, exam preparation, or factual information.

  • Cross-checking is mandatory: You must cross-reference every AI-generated explanation, answer, fact, definition, formula, or marking comment against your school's official materials, your textbook, or another authoritative source before relying on it for an exam, assessment, or homework submission.
  • AI Limitations: AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, out-of-date, biased, internally inconsistent, or inconsistent with specific classroom teachings ("hallucination"). This is an inherent limitation of current AI systems and not a defect we can warrant against.
  • User Interpretation: SuperStudies cannot be held responsible for how a student interprets, paraphrases, copies, or applies the information, hints, or explanations provided by our AI Tools.
  • No Exam Board Endorsement: Explanations generated by our AI are not official exam-board interpretations and must not be cited or relied upon as such.
  • Safety filters are best-effort: Our AI Tools include automated safety filtering to reduce the chance of harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe output, but no filter is perfect. If you encounter content that appears unsafe or inappropriate, please report it to [email protected].
  • Third-party AI providers: We rely on third-party AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic). Outages, model deprecation, or policy changes by those providers may degrade or remove AI features without notice.

4.3 Responsibility for Curriculum Sync

While we provide curriculum data based on the DfE subject content, the "Source of Truth" remains your school's materials and scheme of work — not any external exam board materials. SuperStudies is not responsible for any discrepancies between our curriculum data and your school's requirements. Students must verify their study plan against their school's official materials.

4.4 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SuperStudies Ltd shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Academic failure, poor exam results, or failure to achieve a target grade
  • Misunderstanding or misinterpretation of AI-generated explanations or study materials
  • Inaccuracy or incompleteness of curriculum data
  • Any other educational or academic outcome

All tools and content are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

5. User Accounts

To use the Service you must register for an account.

  • Self-registration is restricted to adults aged 18 or over. When you sign up you are asked to confirm that you are 18+, that you are the parent or legal guardian responsible for any student account being created, and that you have read these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
  • Children under 13 cannot self-register. A parent or guardian must create an account first and then add the student via the "Add a student" option on the parent dashboard. The act of adding the child constitutes parental consent under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  • Students aged 13–17 may use the Service on a parent or guardian's account; we expect parental oversight to be in place.
  • SuperStudies enforces a single active session per account. Signing in on a new device automatically signs you out of any other device. Login credentials are personal and must not be shared, even within a household.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Upload harmful, offensive, or infringing content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service

7. Subscriptions, Payments & Cancellation

SuperStudies offers tiered paid subscriptions (Silver, Gold, Platinum). Pricing is shown on the pricing page and is in British Pound (GBP) inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store full card details.

7.1 What you'll be charged

Before checkout you will be shown the exact amount payable today, the renewal cadence (monthly or yearly), and the renewal price. Subscriptions auto-renew at the same price unless cancelled. You can review the active plan and renewal date in your billing dashboard.

7.2 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from the billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep full access until that date and are not charged again. Cancelled subscriptions can be reactivated up until the period end.

7.3 14-day right of withdrawal (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel digital subscriptions, unless you waived this at checkout. SuperStudies is delivered immediately on payment. The pre-checkout disclosure shown to you before payment requires you to expressly tick a box agreeing to start the service straight away and (where the law allows) waive the standard withdrawal right. We record the time at which you ticked that box on your subscription record. If you have not waived the right, you can request a refund within 14 days by emailing [email protected]; refunds in this period will be issued on a pro-rata basis less the value of the service used.

7.4 Refunds outside the 14-day period

Once the 14-day period has passed (or the right has been waived), subscription fees are non-refundable for partial periods. If the service is materially broken or unavailable for an extended period, contact us — we will assess refund requests in good faith.

7.5 Price changes

We may change subscription prices in future. Any change will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance and will only apply at your next renewal — you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

8. AI-Powered Features

The Service uses artificial intelligence to provide study assistance, practice questions, and feedback. AI-generated content is for educational guidance only and should not be considered a substitute for professional teaching. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated responses.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, graphics, and software on the Service are the property of SuperStudies Ltd or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

While we work hard on accuracy and availability, we make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of any content or features, and we may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SuperStudies Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

11. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). See our Privacy Policy for full details.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
